Industry Watch Reports

Nielsen’s Industry Watch Reports compare basic shopping measures across all regional distribution channels and key retail banners. While more typical Homescan analyses are specific to a particular category, the three Industry Watch Reports are more macro in focus:

  • Retailer Channel Watch (Total ACV)

  • Retailer Grocery Watch (composite of Grocery store categories)

  • Retailer Drug Watch (composite of Drug store categories)

Reports are available electronically as Workstation Plus Viewer files to allow for easy manipulation and further analysis of the data.

Provides Insight Into:

  • Based on total expenditures, how important is each distribution channel?

  • What impact are non-traditional channels having on Grocery and Drug?

  • Is a banner’s share performance a function of household penetration, purchase frequency or basket size?

  • How is a particular channel or banner’s performance trending over time?
